1,000,000

I orginally began this Blog on Blogger in June 2004. After 1,892 posts and 350,000 visits I switched over to WordPress in August 2010, and today the WordPress stat counter passed the 1,000,000 page views mark, which I admit made me feel very proud.
I’ve written 1,778 posts since moving here in the summer of 2010, clearly less prolific than I was in those early days, but the individual posts get a lot more traffic and that has been increasingly true in recent years.
This Blog is mostly about the trials and tribulations of being a Charlton Athletic fan, which as we know can write a thousand books, but it has also been a chronicle of my life, a diary, a release and a companion.
I’ve written about all kinds of stuff over the years, and in particular my travels. However it does make me chuckle that my most read article is this.
As my fellow Bloggers will tell you this can be a real labour of love, but I really think we are close to seeing long awaited change at Charlton, and I plan to be here to wave good riddance to Roland Duchatelet and continue to write about those Addicks with my own particular slant from 3,447 miles across the Atlantic.
Many thanks again to everyone that has helped me reach 1,000,000 visits over the past 7 years.
CA
Congratulations CA, well done i thoroughly enjoy your very informative blogs. Keep up the good work.
Many thanks Rob.
Congratulations!
Thanks KHA
Required reading. I find more about what’s going on at Cafc through this blog than any other source and it’s always a more balanced take on things. Also enjoy the home (and away) blogs too.
That’s very kind, thank you.
Congratulations on your fantastic achievement CA. Not just on passing the 7 figure marker, but also for your longevity as a blogger. We all know how difficult it is to find material to write about. Keep up the good work mate.
Many thanks Ketts. Much appreciated
Love your blog CA I am also following the Addicks from a far and live every moment of the games listening to Terry and the boys commenting on the games on Valley Pass. Congratulations on reaching the magical one million figure.
Cheers .
Rob from not so sunny Cyprus!
Many thanks Robert. The Cyprus winters
not sunny?
The summers are great CA but we live in a village called Drouseia 600 meters up from the coast. We moved here in November 2014 and have had snow every winter since we have been here. Still it’s better than Bexley!
My wife and I do miss The Valley although it’s been made easier by Duchbag being in charge.
It still brings tears to my eyes though. Let’s hope for good news this week and he will be on his bike back to his hole!
I would never have known that their was snow in Cyprus. How far is that from Paphos?
Depressing isn’t it. I almost lost interest last year after 43 years. To be fair to Robinson he at least has brought a bit of passion back and it has revived me, but I have still not been to The Valley for 2 years…. kills me….
Hi CA. In answer to your question we are on the West Coast of Cyprus about twenty minutes drive north of Paphos, We look out towards the Turkish main land that is visible on a clear day. In front of us is Polis and Latchi if you are familiar with the island. Check out this web-site for the snow. If you ever visit the island (Knowing that you are a globe-trotter!) then the beers are on me…That’s only you not your 1M, followers!!
Keep up the good work your always a great read.

Haha. Thanks Rob. I spent a fair few summers in Paphos before it was really developed. I have some very fond memories.
Congratulations CA. Funnily enough, Mine ticked over 1,000,000 on Friday (boosted by Wednesdayites interest in quatrain Meire) although that is since 2007. I had to smile when Charlton Life’s Roland Takeover hit 1m views recently in 9 months. One thread! Cheers – Dave.
I knew you were close Dave. Congratulations mate. It’s quite an achievement, but I reckon that CL Takeover thread will get another million views before it actually happens 🙂
Doctor Kish also gets hits in numbers we can only dream off..
One of your silent readers here…. good job and keep it up, always look forward to your CAFC view [and of course I now have a recommend list of restaurants and hotels in Bermnuda and beyond… – Steve
Thanks Steve. Amazing the amount of useful / useless info you can pick up on here 🙂
Well done Chicago – I always enjoy your well observed and intelligent posts – long may you continue – all the best to you – giles
Thanks Giles. Much appreciated.
Congratulations CA! A remarkable achievement. Thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog, and feel that sharing a tribulation like Charlton with you has made it a loss less painful.
Pembury Addick
PA – I like other CAFC Bloggers always value your interraction. I admire you and your son’s undying loyalty. Many thanks.
Well done CA
I enjoy your posts, they’re always well written even if I don’t always agree with your point of view
Cheers
Thanks Steve. That’s what being a football fan is all about. Shame we can’t have a debate over a pint
🙂
Thank you for reading.
Kongerats Chicago Addick…I’ve been a mostly silent lurker over the years. It’s always good to find Charlton fans on the interweb. You are a good writer on many subjects, not just Charlton. Hopefully besides the 1m mark we’ll be celebrating a takeover soon.
I hope so SD. Thank you for your kind words.
Congratulations CA. I’m glad to read that you’re proud of your achievement…and quite right too. Here’s to the next million.
Thanks Richard.
Congratulations CA! A wonderful achievement! Keep up the good work and as others have observed let’s hope there is something more positive to write about our wonderful club very soon! Phil
Thanks Phil. I’m glad you’ve stuck with it too. There’s something special about our club, and I’m convinced we are going to get it back..
