New sponsors to go with new shirt manufacturers

Charlton announced new shirt sponsors last week.

RSK is the UK’s largest privately held environmental, engineering and technical services group, comprising over 130 companies employing 6,000 people and with turnover of £350.5m in 2021. They are based in Cheshire, but have subsidiaries across the globe and named after the three founders of the company.

More loveliness from Hummel

About those kits then.

Hummel have been a terrific kit partner and have excelled themselves again with this season’s offerings.

I ❤️ Hummel

I haven’t bought a Charlton shirt for years, that tends to happen with age and paunch, and no lad’s holidays to wear it on. Yet, what a temptation it is this year once the charlatans have been eradicated of course.

A couple of quite beautiful kits from those Danish geniuses at Hummel.

All blacks

This season’s away kit will be all black. Once again the club have added some 1990’s touches with purple and green accents. Thin green and purple stripes cross the simple shirt horizontally. Then black shorts and socks finish it off.

Pinstripes

As widely anticipated the new Charlton home kit celebrates both the famous FADS and The Woolwich pinstripe top of the early 80’s. It also pays homage to a century playing at The Valley with a gold sword appearing on the back neck of the shirt and on the socks. I do like that little touch.

Blue is the colour

Or scuba or marine, but it will be shades of blue for Charlton’s third kit next season. Chuks is modeling it in the photo.

The club are doing a slow reveal of the new Hummel kits for next season. Later yesterday the home and away goalkeeper kits also got an airing, and I have to say I really like the home yellow and white honeycomb one.

I was unsure about the white away kit released by Hummel, something about the way the stripes criss-cross at the top and the badge should be on the chest, shouldn’t it? But it’s a football kit, and I’m 50. I have good wine to spend my money on.

The white one was inspired by the Quasar kit from the mid-90’s.

New shirts very fitting

Well we have a promotion winning kit, now to see if those that wear it are not only fit for it but can make it proud.

Thank you to Hummel for the new kits, of which the home one is not only unique but champions our history and to of course better days. The away one is original and would work very well as a gym shirt or something to wear to the pub. Good contrasts of blue and again a shout to the blue away kit of 25 years ago.
