Pinstripes

As widely anticipated the new Charlton home kit celebrates both the famous FADS and The Woolwich pinstripe top of the early 80’s. It also pays homage to a century playing at The Valley with a gold sword appearing on the back neck of the shirt and on the socks. I do like that little touch.
The words ‘100 years of The Valley’ are printed inside of the collar, and the lyrics to ‘Valley Floyd Road’ are printed around the hem. Remember those words must be read at a million miles an hour!
I like it on first blush, I won’t be buying one of course as I’m too fat, but it’s a good looking shirt. There’s quite a bit of black, but we’ve played with black over the years, and of course it’s a major fixture of our badge. I’m thinking maybe the sponsor would look better in white, but the font is probably too small for it too work.
Another fine effort from Hummel in my opinion.
