Blue is the colour

Or scuba or marine, but it will be shades of blue for Charlton’s third kit next season. Chuks is modeling it in the photo.

The club are doing a slow reveal of the new Hummel kits for next season. Later yesterday the home and away goalkeeper kits also got an airing, and I have to say I really like the home yellow and white honeycomb one.

Danish company Hummel have a wonderful eye for simplistic designs and appear to understand history and individuality. They’ve been by a million miles our best kit designer for decades.

The blue third is clearly off the shelf, as was the yellow one we had last year, but I like that the new sponsor’s logo has been incorporated into the material, unlike our friends at Sunderland.

I look forward to the unveil of the home and away numbers, the away I’d have to assume will be lighter, hopefully white, bearing in mind the darker shade of the purple goalkeepers one.
