Godden signs new contract
Matty Godden has signed a one year extension.
The popular striker missed almost the entirety of last season with initially a lengthy knee injury which had added complications, and then when he finally returned fully fit he broke a fibula in the Ipswich home game, which ended his campaign.
I’m happy that the club and Godden have committed for another season. He thoroughly deserves the opportunity, and we all look forward to seeing him again, ole ole. Godden has scored 24 times in 64 games for the Addicks.
Godden’s role will be more of a mentor, he is 35 next month, but those goals at Watford and Sunderland and his movement and intelligence prove he can still be a very useful option for Jones next season..

Really happy that Matty has accepted the new contract and a chance to show fans the quality he has after last season.
He’s a class act and I’m sure he will do the business for us.
I hope Charlton are looking at some of the Capo Verde players and I’d volunteer to act as a club scout if needed

I think his name is Nizar Al Rashad (no 4).he is young ,very much in the mould of Mark Kinsella and played as a no 10, and if I picked the right man he was real good.
He should be out again tonight against Algeria- worth a look.

Just seen a news outlet saying charlton have agreed a £2 million pound transfer deal with west ham united for loydd jones. Have you heard anything ca to back up this story.
