Dixon docks
I’ve written about Kaheim Dixon already (here and here), but today the club announced his signing subject to a few final pieces of his work permit to finalized.
Dixon has signed a 4-year contract and will wear the number 13.
Dixon comes with a lot of recommendations, but this is the first time living away from home and he is only just 19.
However off the bench with 10 minutes to go he could unsettle a few tiring defence’s.
Dixon has had just one professional league season in Jamaica, but was heavily courted by European sides and has already played for the national team eight times.
Welcome to London, SE7 young man. Song stolen unabashed from Charlton Life:
🎵 Don’t worry about Kaheim
Coz every little thing gonna be alright 🎵

NJ has been quoted as not liking and using wingers, as demonstrated by moving Campbell to a more central position and using wingbacks in the first team.
The U21s are also converting or trying to convert Rylah into a wingback.
Will he try to convert Dixon into a wingback or a central striker, the latter I hope.
Maybe if the strikers continue to be ineffective the system could change to 3-4-3 particularly if chasing the game.
A great signing and if the reality matches the hype we have a player. I’m happy that we’ve signed him on a four year deal, without being patronising League One is a big step up from the JPL and he’ll need to get up to our standards of fitness so it might be that we don’t see a lot of him this year. Coming on late and running at tired defenders might be where he gets used for the time being, whether that’s as a winger or through the centre I don’t know. If it’s out wide then although Nathan Jones doesn’t employ wingers in his go-to formation of 3-5-2 it does no harm to have a Plan B.
Being away from home might be a culture shock – you reference Richard Gough in another recent post, his yearning for South Africa saw him return to Jo’burg after a few months and so we lost the services of a player who could have been a club legend without him ever making the first team. This though is a different era…
