Paul Hart rejoins
Not ultra surprising this. Nathan Jones talked in glowing terms of Paul Hart yesterday during his auspicious first pre-match press conference. Hart has played a big part in Jones’ coaching and managerial career and rejoins Charlton about a decade after he left.
Hart is 70 and has had a golden post playing career mentoring and coaching, and as Jones said yesterday was heavily responsible for the careers of a whole team of players that played at the very top. The exalted Andy Reid being one of them.
I also remember Hart well from his playing days, as I am of that age. He was a no-nonsense defender, and we certainly need some of that!
The owners have spent some money this week, which I applaud, and I hope long term they get their investment paid back in spades.
I expect Curtis Fleming to stay on in some coaching capacity, although I’m not sure about the long term future of Stephen Henderson. Andrew Sparkes may be a name to watch there.
I’m sure this will be a very positive change. The feelgood factor increases as our new ‘manager’ builds his coaching team.
I’m all smiles at the moment, all we need now are a few wins 🙂
Yet another good appointment hopefully – we really are setting up a solid base for something good with the appointment of Dr Will Abbott as well. Something positive to talk about at last – keep the faith. 🤞

They were both at Charlton at the same time – PH in charge of the academy and NJ as coach of the under-21s. Presumably that’s where their working relationship began?

Delighted that Paul Hart is assisting Nathan as he has a wealth of knowledge and experience to help.
Seems we are luring back ex-charlton family members to settle a rocky ship and to make progress.
