Charlton TV
Late last night I had an email from Charlton saying they had “successfully taken £220.00 from my credit card” which was very kind of them. This is the video pass for the new season 2023/24.
One of the rare things that has successfully and impressively worked under Thomas Sandgaard is the introduction and production of CATV, that is generally other than the 90 minutes of the actual game itself!!
CATV has been a real groundbreaker for Addicks’ fans, especially for those overseas such as myself. Minto, Curbs, Brown et al have brought the club much closer to those living abroad or unable for whatever reason to get to games regularly. The presentation is slick and the show manages to be similarly objective and biased.
With my £220.00 being taken already I assume that Charlton TV will continue in its current format for next season.
However, those that got to have a good look at the sell sheet for the original Charlie Methven backed bid will also have noticed that Charlton TV was one of the expenses that was due to be cut, so either that is something that has been laid to rest or will still be instigated in time.
At the moment at least it looks as if Thomas Sandgaard is prepared to fund it. Hopefully the new group will as well as they already have my money.
Or prepared to take your money, upfront, for it even though it might not, actually, exist.
Being UK based I can only get limited access to match recordings. Up to a few years ago highlights of U18 and U21(U23) games were available on the site. The home U21 games are shown but only U!8 FA Youth cup games and League play offs, no longer highlights of the U18 league games through the season.
