What will tomorrow bring?
I write this before going to bed in Colorado, and 7 hours behind the UK. Transfer windows, particularly January ones have not been kind to us, and I still have nightmares about ‘super duper’ phones and fake wealthy sheiks bearing big budgets.
At the beginning of this transfer window we were given a whole new management team promising a busy window and one that will have us much stronger by the end of it, possibly enabling us to make a run for the play-off’s.
So far we have removed from the wageroll Jake Forster Caskey, Craig McGillivray and Jayden Stockley, who left for Fleetwood on a fee. Conor McGrandles went out on loan.
Joining on a short term contract were Macauley Bonne and the loans of Matt Penney and now injured Todd Kane. Whatever universe you occupy that is not strengthening the squad, although the news that Jes Rak-Sakyi remains is welcoming.
Dean Holden may have passed the smell test with Addicks’ fans, but others such as Andy Scott have us guessing and questioning and smelling BS.
A big day tomorrow in so many ways. What will it bring?

Maybe the club might bring in a new crowd steward and off-load 5 to Palace !!!!
Not much methinks……maybe a couple of loans, and as I keep saying, maybe a ‘dreg’ or two from the bottom of the barrel……Please, please, please prove me wrong !!!

This Bournemouth midfielder but we did our best with another but it fell through at the last minute and we worked so hard!!!
In reality it is a bizarre and disorganized process. When the manager has a contract only to the end of the season, success as determined only by TS, players with long term injuries. Little hope from this window of really improving our lot in this league or over the summer window unless there is stability and proper planning. At present its just a hope of better days.
So far, similar to last & previous years, Kirk gone on loan to Burton, looks likely to be replaced by Edwards from Wigan who has only managed 23 minutes as a sub this season and Kilkenny brought in on loan from Bournemouth as he has also had no game time with Stoke, so neither can be up to match fitness. O’Connell sold to Wrexham as they have more money to spend than Charlton and more ambition, who has been replaced by Hector a 30 year old who was released by Fulham last July and hasn’t been with a club since, so hasn’t played and can’t be match fit, on a contract until the end of the season!
So looks like we now have three new players along with Todd who got injured in the first 30 minutes of his first game, all who aren’t anywhere near match fit! Totally sums up what a complete shambles the recruitment of Gallen & Co is and that no monies have actually been available for transfer fees for any decent players and the only monies changing hands are coming in from supposingly lower clubs paying out for Stockley and O’Connell.
Wow – how underwhelming was that!!
