Stockley signs for Fleetwood

Another out today as Jayden Stockley moves to Fleetwood Town in a permanent fee for an undisclosed fee. A quick tap at the calculator tells me that the club are currently sitting comfortably in the black thus far this transfer window.
Whilst that is clear, where that money is going is not.
Stockley was warmly welcomed when signed by Nigel Adkins on a permanent after an end of season loan. Last season he delivered and this he hasn’t, but the reasons are far more murky than that, and Jayden has suffered more than most of a continual changing cycle of playing styles, coaching and management.
Good luck to Jayden, an articulate and likeable man, who also suffered a tough injury. Fully fit and fully utilized he is more than a decent striker at this level.
Fleetwood have also signed Peterborough’s Jack Marriott for what their website says a “substantial undisclosed fee.” There’s a club actually spending money. I’d have been happy with Marriott.
Left sided CB hopefully ? 🙂
At last we get a player off our books rather than another loan who will be shipped back to us at the end of the season.
Though all we are doing is getting loan players in, apart from Bonne on a permanent until the end of the season and anyone decent on loan will be taken back by their club. Little wonder we keep ending up with a similar set of poor players each year!
Mr Gallen has a lot to answer for these last few seasons, as most of the players brought in have been dreadful.
The cycle of mediocrity
Then it’s up to the fans to break the cycle and boycott season tickets for next season. Money is the only thing they listen to.
Well TS true to his word in that he is cost cutting effectively.
Good luck to him, but his return this season – three goals of which two came in the league, is nowhere near good enough for a striker. Since that injury last season he hasn’t looked right and a player who was going to sit on the bench soaking up a wage was going to be part of the problem not part of the solution. With Macauley Bonne, Miles Leaburn and Chuks Aneke we have three strikers who fit Dean Holden’s style of play, plus there’s Daniel Kanu.
Where are Fleetwood getting the money from?
Substantially in the black?
Transfer Window might have washed its face
Makes no odds cos skintgaard ain’t reinvesting one red cent in his London soccerball fancy now he’s lost interest/got found out for the clueless egomaniac martinet he really is
Should have gone in for Marriot ( as I said last week on here ) Apparently the asking price was £250,000. A snip for someone who has scored a lot of goals in the Championship.
Kirk seems likely to follow Stockley out of the door too…..I cant wait to see who we end up with (presuming of course anyone wants to join a sinking ship) but it will be a similar ending to the last few windows I’m sure, loans, or what’s left at the bottom of the barrel !!!
PLEASE,SOMEONE IN THE RECRUITMENT DEPARTMENT,PROVE ME WRONG !!!!!
Our loss and Fleetwoods gain.
Stockley has had a difficult season as we know but I send my best wishes to him.
He will come back I the future and bite our bums I just know it !!!
Sad day. Ok has not played well this season but Stockley is a striker and on his day a goal scorer. With the right partner like Washington he would be a handful with the right system of play. Everyone knows no money is going to be spent on players only loan players, or players sold. I thinkThomas thinks that our youth players are as good as Mr Ferguson were when they won the Premiership. It will be at least three years before they are anywhere near good enough and consistent enough on a regular basis to win League One ,but that is only if they are still at the Club and not been sold.
Agree with everyone’s comments about reinvestment and youth but have we actually sold anyone to a team that is higher than us recently? Washington to Rotherham was the last? The ‘outs’ are freeing up playing spaces and wages – could actually be the first signs of sensible managment. BUT its guaranteed that Stockley will score against us in a few weeks when we play Fleetwood.
