Terry Skiverton is Jacko’s new assistant

Long time Yeovil Town player, captain, manager and assistant manager Terry Skiverton is set to be announced as Johnnie Jackson’s assistant this week.
An East End boy, he did spend two years at Welling United in the 90’s but there is where any connection ends.
I’d imagine Johnnie has had plenty to say in the appointment, and I like that Skiverton brings lot of grass roots experience plus a myriad of coaching badges leading up his UEFA Pro License Level 5 last summer. I suspect he may be one of the coaches that Jacko had met doing the courses.
I like that Skiverton is outside of the Charlton bubble and doing a little reading online when playing he was a tough ball-winning midfielder. He is well respected in football circles and is no easy touch. A bit of tough love maybe what is required.
Welcome Terry.
Yes, I agree about the bubble aspect and yes this relates still too many players and some need to toughen up and so often CAFC is still getting bullied out of games and PLEASE someone shoots on-site and has too many perfect passes let alone one and JJ needs to be more ruthless with them too.
“…and doing a little reading online when playing he was a tough ball-winning midfielder.”
Centre-back.
Yes. My mistake.
That’s a great appointment…..he will compliment Jacko and Jason.
The squad needs someone from the ‘outside who can fill in the missing jiz-saw piece to take the team forward.
I watched Welling on a regular basis 20-30 yrs ago and my memory of Skiverton is positive but I may be wrong in thinking that he played as a central defender at that time. He certainly was a strong character with leadership skills.
Rierti – My quick research / memory had him as a defensive midfielder, but he was a centre-half.
