The whip round that Marian Mihail done to raise a few quid must have gone better than expected as their was enough over to send Lee Bowyer and his small squad – perhaps they are all sharing a room – to The Belfry for some much needed team bonding, and one would assume, golf.

Whilst they are in the Midlands the Addicks will also play Birmingham City in a pre-season friendly on Saturday at Wast Hills, the Blues training ground.

Along for the ride is Tom Lockyer, who is free to leave but is currently training with The Addicks. The club have had interest in both Dillon Phillips and Alfie Doughty, but the club have currently resisted.

The Addicks also play Crystal Palace at Selhurst in a friendly on Saturday 29th. Bowyer said that the League Cup 1st Round tie at Swindon will also be used as a pre-season preparation match.

I wonder if we play Welling United this summer? I mean the reason to play then is to raise money for our local neighbours, which a behind closed doors won’t.

The current news from the Charlton rumour mongers is all positive and good to hear HOW positive a person ‘our man is’, and it’s great that you are always up to date with any info.
I act as an unpaid ‘proof reader’ for Chris on his Dr Kish blog and I’ve picked up your use of the word ‘four’…with reference to the golf mentioned. The actual spelling of the word in this usage is Fore……I put this down to the fact that you’re using ‘the American spelling! 🤣
My younger son has lived in Holland for the last 21 years ( a well respected golf coach at Golf Club t’zelle) and has lost the knack of spelling in English! He speaks fluent Dutch so I’m not just proud of him for doing that, I can appreciate how difficult spelling can be!
Keep up the blog…makes for a good read, especially when it’s NOT about Charlton! Best regards, Derek Perkins
