Rumours

I’m not one for scurrilous rumours. Aribo to Arsenal, Bauer to Blackburn, Theresa May will she won’t she, Trump didn’t did he, he probably did, but one stopped me in my tracks today, although it was hardly surprising.
“QPR sound out Lee Bowyer as new manager after axing Steve McClaren” screamed the Evening Standard tonight. No quotes, no inside knowledge, no investigative journalism. Just an arrow shot into Charlton fan’s hearts.
This was the week supposedly that one of Roly’s oppo’s was going to send a text. Maybe Bowyer’s agent is getting restless. Hard not to expect others to admire Bowyer’s work and attitude since he somewhat begrudgingly appeared on the managerial scene a year ago.
I’ve lost track who owns QPR these days, but they are as much of a basket case as anyone else, other than a few of us proper whack-jobs. They hardly ever keep a manager for more than a year, and their recent managerial roster is the who’s who of failed duds.
We’ll have to wait and see. Bow has a lot vested at least until the summer, but he is nobodies fool, especially Roland Duchatelet and his sidekick.
You see – this is just what ruins my end of the season. At a time when I really want to get behind the team and see us do well in the play-offs what on earth is the point?
