Mile high

After a journey that took 19 hours I made it to the city of Denver late last night. The steps of the State Capitol building are a mile above sea level giving the town its nickname.
The journey from Bermuda is already a hike, and then I got stuck at Miami airport as our plane was taken out of service due to mechanical reasons and we had to wait for another one, give the crew a break etc, and missed a connection in Dallas, blah blah..
A planned client dinner was derailed, so it was a large glass of red and bed when I got to my downtown Denver hotel last night.
Today we drive up the mountains to the 11,000 feet of altitude at Beaver Creek where a ton of fresh powder awaits and a temperature of 17°C. Shame it’s a work trip.
Feel sorry for your delay, I unfortunately had a delay of five hours at JFK last week and was absolutely shattered on my return. My tiredness and disillusionment however vanished on Saturday following the 3-0 drubbing of the Shrews -what a marvelous performance. Come on you Reds.
Trevor – a sure way to get rid of jet lag in my experience is a couple of pints, a Charlton victory, followed by a couple of pints..
Well for sure don’t use Avianca on your travels. A week out from flying LA to Lima they decided to fly two hours early leaving us a 7 hr layover in Bogata and today after landing in Lima got email saying they were doing the same out of Rio leaving us with 3 am start in Feb on return….
Hopefully Bogota has a nice airport mate..
