Ajose leaves for season

Hardly a surprise. Nicky Ajose left for Mansfield today on loan for the season. The striker signed for the Addicks in the summer of 2016. His contract runs out this summer. He has scored 11 goals in all competitions. A couple of those were big ones, but in all honesty he has failed pretty miserably to make his mark at The Valley. The supposed £800,000 signing has often looked uninterested although Bowyer praised his commitment today.
Ajose is one of the club’s highest earners, and although we still may be contributing to his salary, this move gives Bowyer and Gallen some more wiggle room in the January window. Our budget makes it near on impossible to find someone to replace Taylor or Grant equally, nonetheless Bowyer will be looking for an option that compliments his squad strikers, possibly more of a big man with the characteristics of Taylor. Igor is due to return to the side in February following his shoulder injury.
You echo my sentiments exactly. At least Ajose is joining up with a team whose manager David Flitwell knows him very well from his loan spell at Swindon last season.
Flitcroft isn’t it. Think he had him at Bury too.
Yes Flitcroft is the right name and he had him at Bury circa 2013. Sorry my memory’s going.
