Price agreed. Twice?

Despite snow covering SE7 and it’s surrounds Richard Murray put the sun back in the sky this afternoon when he gave a takeover update to supporters.

“I said in January that negotiations with two parties on the takeover were continuing well and I hoped a deal would be concluded in February of this year. Although the takeover has not yet been completed, the good news is the terms of the deal, including the price, have now been agreed between the parties and we are now just waiting for their respective lawyers to finalise the sale and purchase agreement.”

However confusion reigns over if there are two parties that have agreed a fee, or just the one. Clear as crystal it is not, which will become the epilogue for Roland Duchatelet’s financial dealings of the club since he bought us 4 years ago.

It has later been confirmed by the club that there are two buying parties remaining in the hunt, with an assumption that the same price has been agreed by both but with a lot of the finer details to be determined. In my experience that’s a very unusual arrangement.

No one said it would be easy.

    Unusual indeed.

That makes 3 parties who were interested in buying the club, with Donald Muir pulling out, if we take Murrays first update as true – ie two interested parties, then there must of been a relative late comer to the proceedings, all very confusing.

Confuzzled…but I think Murray is referring to the two parties i.e, buyer and seller rather than there are still two separate parties interested in buying the club. I’m surprised given that everyone seems to have questioned the wording that he hasn’t issued a clarification. But if there are still two parties out there then I will clutch at a few straws and hope that if one pulls out that it means that at least we have a fallback option.

    • The club have confirmed it is two different bidders. Hopefully when we finally get a new owner we can have a Head of Comms that is able to write a little bit more clearly. The garbage announcements that have come out under RD and KM have been truly awful.

Not that confusing really, RD has sold the club twice. He knows how to make a buck.
