Up to you Mr Robinson

Karl gave a rallying cry today.
“We’ve got to make sure we stay on the front foot. I’ll try to do the best I can. The takeover is not far away, there are so many things going on.“ (more)
I think we can agree that Robinson is fairly good at giving rallying cries, but at some point they just all meld into one big noise. With 13 games left the place for noise now is on the pitch. Let’s leave the managerial blithering in the changing room, and truly leave a mark on us Addicks and give promotion your very best shot by being the best coach and manager you can be.
Interesting now that he has lost Jay Dasilva and Ahmed Kashi, albeit fortunately it appears not for the entire season, to see if this finally means a change of formation. I’d be mighty impressed with the cheeky Scouser now if he showed the balls and foresight to change up the way we play, not foregoing his beliefs, but mixing up our style to give us more backbone and power and numbers up front.
DaSilva is a particular blow, with the Chelsea loanee probably lined up to be the Player of the Year. Lewis Page is the obvious replacement but few of us actually know if he is any good, let alone fit enough. Sarr could add height to the back four if he goes there.
As for Kashi, a small tear on his heel could be a lot longer than 4 weeks, a plantar fasciitis can be a bugger. I know, I’ve had it.
Will the cheeky rally crier play 4-4-2? Is the Polish fella even fit? I think he definitely needs to add some height, especially in midfield. Move Konsa there. Utilize Aribo and I would be more than happy to see Anfernee Dijksteel show us what he can do. Hey, maybe Alou Diarra’s glittering career still has a story left in it..
The chances of Saturday’s game at AFC Wimbledon going ahead look slim though as things stand. The Dons are having a pitch inspection tomorrow at midday.
Indeed, talk is cheap. Some articles you read would have you thinking we’re struggling to get 11 players out. Every club gets injuries but I would expect a top 6 budgeted team to be able to cope with these and if it was that bad we’d be recalling players out on loan.
Tex Too damn well right. So many excuses and BS 8th highest finish.
