Forever Charlton

…. Forever hopeful.

I am approaching these next two games with a sense of dread, but that won’t be the first time. As a kid, and to be honest as an adult I used to get very nervous before games and always feared the worst yet watching Charlton has given me some of my best lifetime memories.

The nerves have somewhat evaporated over the years, especially since I moved overseas but my personality does take on that of a compulsive gambler who has doubled and quit once too many times during games. I can never be far away from the score, furiously pressing the buttons on my phone, or staying close to the radio.

That won’t be any different this afternoon, the game kicks off at 3.45pm Bermuda time, and I’ll be at my desk tuned in, and tuned out to the rest of the office, as my clammy hands constantly check on the goings on at The Valley.

If you are heading down to SE7 tonight, remember being a Charlton fan was never easy, but remember all those times that you were glad you were. Please give CP and the team every ounce of support tonight. COYR.

  2. And a miracle we almost got. We came out in the second half like a different team – so deserved to win. I will leave match reports to others, but last night was one of those games when its a privilege to be part of the Covered End Choir. Fantastic support and joy to be there. Roll on Saturday…
