Nathaniel Chalobah signs a 1 year deal
The 31-year old who has been training with the Addicks has agreed to a one-year deal, making the defensive midfielder the 6th summer signing.
Chalobah has played in the Premier League and Serie A and has an England cap. He has played over 200 Championship league games but in recent years his campaigns have been interrupted by injuries, mostly muscular ones.
He does have a lot of quality on the ball and is a clever operator in front of a back four.
There is no doubt he was a stand-out in a Sheffield Wednesday team that found it almost to impossible to score last season, but towards the end of the season when he was a regular were really awkward to break down.
I think he is a positive add as a squad member, and could well make his debut tomorrow.

I think (hope) he will be an asset. He certainly doesn’t lack experience, so for nothing but wages, sounds like a decent deal, if he can stay injury free. If he does as well as Cody did last term, we should all be satisfied.
There is no doubt chalobah is a quality player but what’s happened to the creative midfielder we so desperately need , I feel we are a bit defensively minded, I don’t know what everyone else feels keep the faith coyr
He’s a good signing in my humble opinion and will add quality to the squad but we still need a couple of quality signings that are now rare to get.
The Cheltenham game is important for the team to put on a more cohesive display that was worrying poor last game. Confidence and a “don’t panic Mr Mannering” mind set needed.
It’s going to be another worrying season ahead and I’d be happy if we avoid a relegation battle again.
