Wonderwall
As English fans and players serenaded each other on the pitch after. It became pretty obvious that Jude Bellingham is England’s Wonderwall. Incredibly Thomas Tuchel had to convince himself that Bellingham was even worth a squad place. I’m not sure what we’d be watching without he and Harry Kane.
I’m warming to Tuchel like a cold beer in an ice bar. Not bringing along Trent Alexander-Arnold is looking an increasingly stubborn and stupid move.
Yet, we made it through what initially I thought was a tough group, but other groups ended up being more difficult. We made it difficult for ourselves and the 1st half of this game wasn’t encouraging, but the 2nd was much better thanks to Jude and Harry and for us irregular watchers of Premier League football I’m realizing why Elliot Anderson is such hot property.
Rashford is far better than Gordon and Saka better than Madueke, and I stay hopeful that Tuchel knows that.
It is as I pointed out before with the amount of games and stoppages going to be a squad game, but we look weak in certain areas, and the defence had a few wobbles again tonight just like the other two matches, and we’ve yet to play anyone yet.
Knockout football will hopefully bring more open games, and it begins tomorrow in Los Angeles when the Canadians will hope to keep the maple syrup alive and beat South Africa, one of many teams I am shocked are still with us after seeing them play earlier in the group stage.
How bad must have Scotland been?

I’m not convinced with our performances…at times we have really lost the plot and laid bare weaknesses. We have yet to play high quality teams that will exploit our erratic play.
I also don’t like the false singing to our fans by players at the end…why ????????……wait till you achieve wins against quality teams before this cringy display of false appreciation.
