Billy Koumetio

Players contracts expire tomorrow, so it is anticipated we will see movement in and out this week.

The only two Charlton players whose contracts actually expire tomorrow are Lyndon Dykes and Luke Berry. The latter has already been released and I don’t think we will see the former again in a Charlton shirt.

We have had a couple of new names being linked with the Addicks. Charlton have clearly been investigating new talent in Scotland and Dundee’s Billy Koumetio is a name that looks to have some legs – and when I say legs Billy is 6 ft 5 inches tall.

Born in Lyon, he moved into Liverpool’s academy at the age of 16. He signed pro for the Reds and at one time was the youngest player to represent Liverpool in the Champions League. He was sent on loan to Austria Wien, Dunkerque and Blackburn but had made very few appearances and two years ago signed for Scottish Premiership club Dundee.

Koumetio has made 44 appearances in two seasons, although both were hampered by injuries. The 23-year old is a left-sided central defender who can play left back and is managed by Steven Pressley, an ex-centre-back himself.

Koumetio’s contract at Dundee expires next summer and the Daily Record has said that they have already turned down several six figure bids.

Another mentioned as more than a fable is right-back Jordi-Osei-Tutu, who is a free agent after leaving Bolton.

The outs this week may well include Macauley Gillesphey and Alex Mitchell, where Wycombe have joined Plymouth in the race to sign him.
