Derby at home to start, West Ham follows

Derby County at home will be our Championship opening game on Saturday, 15th August. We then a week later head to West Ham at the London Stadium.

Millwall away is pre-Christmas on December 19th and then Southampton visit The Valley on Boxing Day. Let us hope they don’t give us the gift they gave us last season.

West Ham at home is on March 2nd, a Tuesday night and Millwall are at The Valley on April 3rd.

The start after West Ham is Preston (h), West Brom (a), Stoke (h), QPR (h) and Pompey (h) so not terrible and we end with Wrexham at home before travelling to Lincoln on the final day, May 22nd – much later next season.

The list is still pitted by long midweek away trips to Burnley, Wrexham, and Bolton. And Swansea away on New Year’s Day…. makes no sense.

Then there is an almost 3-week international break just as we get going between September 19th (Cardiff away) and October 10th (Bristol City home).

The draw for the first round of the Carabao Cup takes place later and will be played the week before the season starts on Saturday 8th August.
