The eye of the Tigers

I think I’d rather forego next season’s 6 points than have Millwall join Palace in the Premier League.
Hull produced the consummate away performance last night. They started like a bat out of hell, defended resolutely, won a lot of second balls, broke and pressed quickly and scored goals at the absolute right time. The best team won over two games.
Millwall, who were only a couple of moments away from taking the second automatic spot, just didn’t show up. My beer did taste good last night, but as I said in my last post they have been really good this year, possibly the best I have ever seen them. They have built a powerful squad, and have a very good manager.
The question will be can they keep that squad together or do they have to go through a churn of players?
Under their ownership, James Berylson has been pretty empowering by all accounts, and remember Steve Gallen is there too, they have already sold a lot of talent and recruited smartly.
Anyway, enough about our fellow Championship rivals. Suck on your 6 points.
The whole Southampton spying saga is baffling. In the age of AI, and the automation of information, data and insights it is beyond hilarious that Saints sent an analyst to the other end of the country to hide in a bush on a hill with a pair of binoculars.
This whole thing is a real slight on Tonda Eckert, who is obviously a very talented coach. Of course there is a slim, very slim chance that the EFL overturn tonight’s result. I very much doubt that.
Any monetary fine of course will be a pee in the ocean compared to the riches of the Premier League.
I found myself cheering Boro on tonight. It was a very tetchy game, poorly refereed with a heavy undertone. If Harwood-Bellis took the piss out of Ayling’s stammer, then the EFL will have to decide if that is as much of a slur as many of the other things in our game.
Boro started well, and really should have brought down south with them a lead from the 1st leg, but by extra time they were literally out on their feet. I did think Bree played well though.
I had Hull as a team that might go down in the summer when they were under a transfer embargo. They have had a terrific season after staying up a year ago by the skin of their teeth, so good luck to them and Southampton. I assume the Yorkshire Wolds have some very good viewing points for their analyst!
