Bonjour
The Black Friday sale is underway at The Valley.
32-year old left sided French defender Jérôme Roussillon has joined the Addicks on a short-term contract. This tells me that Josh Edwards is going to be missing for some time, but welcome Jerome.
Rousillon has a good CV, and has played at the highest level in Europe, but that was a few years back. He has been a free agent since leaving Union Berlin in the summer.
He last played in April in the Bundesliga, but also appeared for Guadeloupe, for whom he has 8 caps and 2 goals, in two Gold Cup matches against Panama and Jamaica in June.
Roussillon also played for VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga and before that Sochaux and Montpellier in France.
We are desperately in need of cover there, and it means that we won’t have to burn Bell out and Hernandez can be more useful further forward.
He had been training at Sparrows Lane, and has been signed in time to be eligible for Saturday’s game at Coventry City.

I’ve no knowledge of him but hope he is useful. Good to get some cover in for the left back/wingback task.
Rumour that Hernandez will be gone at the end of his short term contract.
I think he will, Daggs.
Roussillon what i can remember of him was a half decent player but like you said CA that was a few yrs ago get him straight in for Coventry match whats the worse that could happen and yes Daggs I agree I think hernandez will be gone too.
Totally agree with you Daggs, Hernandez’s days are numbered. Let’s hope this player can do a half decent job, as having gillispie exposed on the left back is not an option!
A good find and I’m sure he will add experience to the left back position and give Gillesphy a break.
Hernandez will go in January I’m sure…..
Coventry looms and I do fear the worst…a draw would be a bonus before Pompey arrive at The Valley…
And…….Oxford beating Ipswich last night was not on the cards…maybe we can shock Coventry today ?
So pleased to see that Charlton are stretching their dragnet further than Britain (Jamaica excepted) and mostly, so called better div one players We dont seem to venture into the Continent market,,Latin America and Asia, particularly Japan. I follow the A League here in oz and There is Frenchman defender Samuel Suprayen playing for Melbourne City and Frenchman, Zinedene Machach who was a fan favourite at Melbourne Victory last year, Lets hope Jerome will be a good signing, and a shift in direction by Jones and co, Who up to now has been very average IMO
Lets hope that this is a shift in approach to scouting IMO Jones;s spending 12-13 mil on average British players. Expecting them to rapidly improve to Championship level has backfired. We need a dragnet to cover the Continent , Trialists from Latin America. and Asia ,Particularly Japan.— I follow the Australian A League and Melbourne City have Frenchman defender Samuel Suprayen, And cross town rivals Melbourne Victory ,last year had attacking MF Zinedene Machach A fan favourite,, COYA
