Reebok to replace Castore
The good folk on Charlton Life with their ear close to the ground have hinted that next season’s Charlton kits will be made by Reebok.
I’m not sure whether there will be other English clubs choosing Reebok but this marks the old English trainer maker’s re-entry back into the manufacturing and supplying of football kits.
Reebok sadly is no longer a British company and is owned by American footwear and clothing brand Authentic Brands Group, a privately held company that owns a wide range of brands such as Billabong, Champion, Eddie Bauer, Spyder and Nautica as well as companies like Barneys, Forever 21, Brooks Brothers and Ted Baker.
Reebok has not been associated with English football for over a decade when they supplied Liverpool’s kit and sponsored Bolton’s at the time new stadium. They did that for 17 years until 2014.
Reebok do supply kits for rugby league club Leigh, but overwise as far as I can make out their only football audience is in Central and South America, where amongst others, and there doesn’t seem many, they provide kits for my favourite Brazilian club Botafogo.
We could be pioneers here, and we may never know how much Charlie Methven cut the deal for, but after three years we say goodbye to Castore which has had mixed reviews from supporters, and that is being kind.

Castore were difficult in providing kit on time and pricing was not innfavour of fans….let’s hope rebook are better….
reebok did some great kits back in the day, let’s hope we get some matty goodens
Castore was cheaply made and extortionately priced. One or the other I can understand, but not both
