Play-off games not on Charlton TV

I have been reading that Charlton TV will not be allowed to televise the play-off’s.

Sky Sports holds exclusive domestic rights for the EFL, including the play-offs, under a five-year deal that started this season running to 2028/29. In addition to that the EFL signed an international rights deal with a variety of overseas TV companies, most you’ve never heard off, to have exclusive access to show games.

The clubs got paid £450,000, which meant that Charlton gave up on the pre and post match shows this season, although live pictures and commentary have continued for overseas fans.

For play-off matches EFL club’s are not allowed to stream their own team’s games in a region where there is a broadcast partner, which is most places. It is CBS in the USA.

This is such a pisser. The watered down Charlton TV has still been a vital lifeline for Addicks overseas, and Terry, Greg and Brownie have been as valuable as ever this season. I much preferred them today than watching the Sky coverage.

Yes agree with you somewhat but have found Charlton TV to be very unreliable and sometimes lucky to pick up games on other channels and not impressed but Brownie the exception.

Thanks for letting us know. If that’s the case then we’ll have to take it on the chin, check the “broadcast partner’s” offer or listen to the Charlton TV audio. COYR.

There’s always the VPN option. Nord is well recommended.

The first time I watched a game on Sky+, the commentary was so poor I assumed it was AI generated. Sky should take the commentary from the club.

Agree with that Ant. There are just many games to cover and whether they it is AI generated or local journo’s it is not a good product.
