Blueish violet
I am lucky to currently be in Colorado with the beautiful backdrop of the Rockies and rarefied mountain air for company this week.
The sky is a blueish violet and the sun is warm, and I probably didn’t need half of the layers I squeezed into my carry on.
I’ve stayed at this hotel many times and is one of my happy places, as is the mountainside village of Beaver Creek (no. 12 on my 20 Places).
My skiing days are long over, taking note of my orthopedist who enquired to how good of a skier I was after he performed ACL surgery on my knee. Not particularly good I said to which he advised I probably should hang up by boots.
Nonetheless I was up the mountain here yesterday morning traversing through Aspen trees in snow-shoe’s, it was beautiful. Outdoor activities abound around here including snow-mobiling and fly fishing in the cascading waters of the Rocky Mountain rivers. The trout were nowhere to be seen though.
