Miles back in training

Good to read that Miles Leaburn is back in training. He has clearly worked hard, whilst the club under the careful watch of Will Abbott have monitored his progress back to full fitness.

Leaburn last played at the end of November 2023 when he was injured in a home match against Cheltenham. He had also missed the start of last season after getting hurt in the Welling pre-season game.

A fully fit Miles would start for me at the moment, and as Nathan Jones said himself it is hard to imagine a player more in the image of a Nathan Jones’ type striker.

I suspect it will be still a month before we see him, but uplifting news nonetheless.

Great news for him…he’s worked hard and I’m sure all that rehab has been frustrating. We have a few matches coming up in the BSM Trophy so that’s maybe where we’ll see him before he’s unleashed on the league. There’s no rush, we have a full squad and having him return will be like signing a new player.

Very good news but as SP says no need to hurry as the team is playing well. Plenty of combinations are available for the front two as the Ahadme Campbell pairing is not working well, maybe Kanu and Godden would be a starting option with Aneke available after the break possibly paired with Ahadme. As I have said previously Campbell could play as a 10 behind the front 2 as so far I am not convinced by Berry although it is still early days.

Very encouraging performances in the U21 game against Hull with Zach Mitchell, Bower and Kedwell outstanding all looking far too good for that level. It would be nice if they got a chance in the Bristol Motors competition games

Miles Leaburn is a real prospect and should be a must keep>

I am yet to be convinced Ahadme is a right fit. I hope to be proved otherwise. I hope Aneke is content to be the impact player he clearly is coming off the bench. No real Brazilian football as yet, but early days. I don’t mind a few renditions of 1-0 to The Addicks as long as it results in Championship football.
