Super duper phone day
What are we going to see today?
Will it be a “super duper phone” day punctuated by loads of fattening snacks? I’m not sure Will Abbott would approve of that. Or will the day pass without any deadline Charlton moves?
I hope we get some kind of last day action, and I think we will, but we should also prepare ourselves for a net result of no real changes to Nathan Jones’ group.
Maybe Scott Fraser will just do a League One Winston Bogarde. Perhaps there is a place for Terry Taylor in Jones’ squad. More probable is that Jones declares Will Mannion as the Addicks no.1, even though the shirt hangs in the dressing room unowned.
Dan Potts still looks a probability as central defensive cover, but is there a young Premier League club loanee that could provide Jones with that little something different to what he has as a midfielder creative, albeit raw. Or will Jones prefer a permanent signing, if so, who is even out there?
Finally, which young players will be sent out on loan to improve themselves for the benefit of the club.
Whatever, I will be turning on Sky Sports from the minute I wake up until the window closes at 11pm, UK time.
I don’t think there will be too much action today, as opposed to previous windows when we rushed to get most of the (bad) business done on the last day !! There may be a few outgoing loans, but I think Jones is pretty happy with the squad so far. Would be nice to grab a decent attacking midfielder and some goalkeeping cover though.
If Dan Potts is a free agent he can still sign after the deadline, can’t he?
