Charlie Kirk off payroll

“Charlton can confirm that Charlie Kirk has left the club by mutual consent.” (more)

This means that Kirk can get himself onto the free agent market and it gives Andy Scott more money to play with in January.

One of Thomas Sandgaard’s banner signings alongside Ronnie Schwartz, Alex Gilbey, Chuks Aneke, Sam Lavelle and Ben Watson, Kirk played 48 games in two and half years and scored four goals.

Oh, Thomas it was so easy this football malarkey wasn’t it?

Kirk’s last game was in the home Cup game against Cray Valley PM. He cost the club £500,000.

Waste of half a million, plus wages…..should have off loaded him over a year ago…..he will undoubtedly score against us sometime in the future !!!!! Lol….. On a brighter note, Merry Christmas to you and your family CA, and to all CAFC supporters worldwide.

I’m not part of the crowd on this issue (as I often find in many issues of the day) I prefer to remember the whole story of Charlie Kirk.
Whilst his time with us was unquestionably a disappointment. I remember at the time of his signing he was seen as good capture. His form at Crewe made him an attractive addition to the squad. Virtually all of those now slagging him off, were welcoming him with open arms then.
Sadly the week he arrived, his father died. Charlie was hundreds of miles from home at a new club. Try imagining the impact this had on him.
He had, and still has, my sympathy for that. Who knows how mentally damaging it all was for him.
I wish him well and hope he returns North to a new club or even back to Crewe and finds the inner strength to resurrect his career.

Sensible decision…Charlie did his best I think but failed to establish himself in the team.
I wish him well wherever he lands up….probably Blackpool again?
Wishing you CA and your family a very Happy Christmas and 2024 to come !!!
Also to anyone who reads CAs postings.

Only Aneke of the old signings to offload now, unless they want to keep him to play another two half games when he’s able this season, before going off injured again!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you CA & your family and all of you poor suffering Charlton supporters, may 2024 bring a team who can play well and give us the enjoyment to watch, so we finally can get out of this league. Though we will most probably have to wait for the 2024 season! 🙂

What utter rubbish. Granted his off pitch issues, but he NEVER did his best on pitch, preferring a love in with his hair instead.
You clearly did not watch the Cray Valley game, a lowlight of his “career” at Charlton.
And to think he was trousering £5.6k a week………
Good riddance and Happy Xmas to one and all!!

    Bit severe Houndal….
Given the fact he never had a run in the team must have affected his form…and his personal matters must have hit him too.
I can’t comment on his hair but agree he was on good money.
So bah humbug !!….have good Christmas
