Darragh MacAnthony

Like him, loathe him, respect him, the Posh chairman made a swift and decisive response to today’s very late postponement.

MacAnthony tweeted that he and his joint owner Jason Neale will personally pay for coaches to take all away fans with tickets to the re-arranged game. Those that cannot make the game will get a full refund plus a ticket to the next time the teams meet at London Road.

MacAnthony and Neale offered full apologies to both sets of supporters and promised an investigation into what happened, especially in light I think of some of Dean Holden’s comments.

I am an avid follower of MacAnthony’s Hard Truth Podcast, and although he can be very salty and bellicose, he speaks a lot of simplistic sense from a position of knowledge, and wears his heart on his sleeve. He has heavily invested in Peterborough and his readiness to communicate puts our current and past owners to shame.

He is often very complimentary to Charlton on the Pod, and he and Bradford City fan Phil Ideson produce an usually thought-provoking weekly (mostly) hour long show.

Fair play to him, pity more Boards don’t consider fans in the same light!

There has been criticism made that Charlton would not reciprocate in similar fashion as Peterborough have to a lack of communication to the postponed match. Mistakes in communicating will occur in any communication i.e. failure to advise or warn the away team and fans of pitch freezing etc. But to same that the CAFC board would not respond in similar fashion is unfair and unjustified. That Peterborough wished to make things right with the away fan, and maybe some home fans is admirable and a sign the fans are very important aspect of any football club. Well done Peterborough

Well Done DMAC and Co-Owner You both have my full respect on your recent actions. The Addicks fans who travelled to Peterborough last Saturday can hope for a decent rearranged date; I still have my two tickets COYR
