Running out of excuses
Is tomorrow a must win? Game 12 of the season.
Losing or in our case drawing is a habit. We couldn’t even hang on in the Pizza Cup on Tuesday. I was needlessly annoyed after the game, and despite what Scott Marshall said this was not a youthful team, and it was shocking that after dominating we still lost to a team 3rd bottom of L2 with just one win all season.
Confidence is obviously low throughout the whole team, and we are running out of excuses. Even Chuks is back in training meaning that Ben Garner has a full first team squad to pick from, other than Diallang Jaiyesimi, who was injured at Colchester.
The manager has recently taken to jettisoning players out of the team and squad, and all eyes will be tomorrow on his starting formation. Does he stick to his adopted 4-3-3, which the players have been attempting to perfect since his arrival, or does he simply play Stockley and Leaburn up top with two wingers providing the ammo?
We’ve scored in almost every game, it is finishing teams off that is the problem, but it is in defence for me that we have the biggest issues. A clean-sheet is impossible for this lot. O’Connell does not look up to grade, Inniss is a liability with the ball at his feet and Lavelle has simply been a liability full-stop.
We have to move on from the transfer window blind alley and support what we have, and I actually like one or two of the players, at least currently. I like Garner too, but he also was a project, a vanity project for TS, but the time is now to get off the drawing board.

People and fans must realise we’re a big club but little more than a pub team. We lose or draw to pub teams therefore, it’s what we are. We entertain Exeter City this coming Tuesday evening and we all hope we will or should beat them, we’ll see. The league position doesn’t lie.
Spot on CA can’t be bothered to say anymore, it’s now getting tedious, to keep repeating after every game, just how bad we actually are and with BG trying to sugar coat things. Plus Mr S now staying silent as he know’s he’s made another complete balls up, by getting in a Manger yet to really prove himself and signing players all from lower divisions who aren’t up to a higher standard plus trying to play like Man City out from the back, when they mostly can’t even make simple passes all over the field!
Completely agree with everything you said Mike……am fed up with saying the same old things week after week….Jesus, we are only supporters, but it is plain as day that the plans are not working and the squad is not good enough…..why cant the ‘professionals’ that run the club admit their failings and try to remedy things !!!!

Yes I liked you’re comments, I thought JFK had a good run out in the pizza cup, I’m hearing or reading to many excuses. Quarter through the season and struggling the defending is nothing short of a horror movie. He’s got players out of position all over the shop. Yes a pub outing to Lincoln City with no rail access today. So it’s fingers crossed and wait hopefully not an excuse.
And will JFC now be playing? and if not, then why not? (Keeping my cool here and staying nice!)
I don’t fancy our chances though, especially playing in BLUE for goodness’ sake!!
