On our way

Before the fixtures came out my brother, son and a couple of mates vowed to all get together for the opening game of the season. Rain or shine, home or away.
Other than the coastal towns of Fleetwood and Morecambe, we couldn’t have been drawn further away, and then the bloody trains decided to go on strike.
Car, train and taxi‘s (the plane will come on Monday) will take the strain, and if we’ve got our blueprint right we should be in Accrington ready for a few pints with time to spare before kick off.
It will be a long day, but I’m looking forward to it. A thousand Addicks are expected to make their way to the Crown Ground despite the irksome train company cards all football fans have been dealt on the opening day of the EFL season.
I learned a long time ago not to put any, or much emphasis on the 90 minutes of football, when there is a whole day of fun and laughs in store with people you cherish, yet the game takes centre stage, and we will travel with hope and in full voice. Let’s go.
Hope you have a great day mate whatever the result. I will be watching from the Med.
Thanks Dave. Enjoy your hols.
