Burstow leaving

Mason Burstow is not in tonight’s squad as he and Thomas Sandgaard explore a potential sale to an unnamed Premier League club.
It does not matter who the owner is or what crap they spout about keeping our young players, they cash them in at the first opportunity.
Burstow is 18-years old and has played in total 14 times for the first team.

Really poor from Sandgaard if this goes through. I reckon he sees this as a way of recouping the money for Aneke and Fraser. Hope it falls through.
Has very little to do with a club as it’s impossible now to keep players once their heads been turned .. sure TS wants to keep him but knows deep down he fighting a losing battle ..

Get a bloody grip, we’re a league 1 side and as one poster said the players head will be turned, better let him have a discussion and see what comes of it otherwise he may be resentful he wasn’t given the opportunity.
Didn’t he recently sign a contract, so we’ll hopefully get a decent fee.
This is the reality of being in a shite league!
If a premier league club comes in for a player there is little you can do to stop it.
The player wants it and their agent can smell the money.
How the owner can be abused by our fans not getting their own way is beyond me!
It’s the same at every football club even the huge clubs. That is the way it is.
Just get behind whoever is at the club.
I hope we get good money and plenty of add ons. Maybe we can also get him back on loan in the future.
I understand Prem club but I don’t like Sandgaard just accepting it. At least tell us you’ll do everything to keep him. But appreciate it’s a big Prem side. Choice of words, more than situation.

What we should all be pissed off about is, once again a PL Club comes in throws money around like it’s going out of fashion and then if it doesn’t work out cast the lad aside.
It’s been going on since the PL began and it’s about time the FA did something about it and stopped the vultures picking over the bare bones of L1 & 2 clubs!
Perhaps young players shouldn’t be allowed to leave the parent club until a certain age?

PL club comes knocking for a L1 player PL club gets what it wants every time. Period. And the player for that matter. Don’t like it any more than you but it’s the way it is.
He’s just forked out for Aneke and Fraser give the guy some credit.

I’m hoping if the price is met there is a lengthy loan back. Especially as Aneke was holding his hamstring as he was subbed tonight. Leaving us with only Washington. We don’t own the stadium but use it, hopefully the same with him and I’m hoping he’s here next year. You’ve got to have hope even if unlikely
Forget about a bigger club has come in and we have to let the player talk to them, bull…t!!!!! Aneke what a waste of money, he’s a total embarrassment, getting booked every game barging himself about as he didn’t get the rub of the green, he’s like a 10 year old bullying 4 year olds as hes bigger than them! He could have cost us the game, thats now a booking in each game since back for petulance, would much rather we kept Burstow! Plus I bet he’s now out injured for a while, along with I suspect Inniss, who had to go off.
No doubt Gallen will find us some driftwood to fill in the empty holes before 11pm we will have, with no actual central forwards available!

Mason Burstow will be joining a Premier League club to sit on a bench!!!! I thought the youngster loved playing football It’s his loss Money might be good but he will most likely go out on loan to a team in the lower leagues. He could even end up back in SE7.
IF and it is a very large IF MB has signed for Chelsea it is just a fact of life for midtable 3rd division clubs like Chartlon. As if his current club would stand in his way when the offer came. The attraction of top flight football is irresistable. The amounts of money Chelsea have at their disposal are irresistable, indeed the very lifeblood, for 3rd division plodders.
Wailing about it is juvenile and demeaning. At best you’ve all got very short memories too. Mason joined us barely a year ago having done his youth football with Maidstone United. Still wailing about it? Hypocrites.

If you had bothered to actually read my post you would have read that I pointed out Sangaard had originally advised from the outset, that selling off our young talented players was a thing of the past, just to get some quick bucks in! As your obviously also not aware not being a Charlton supporter, that his original plan was to get us into the Premiership within 5 years, though most of us took that as a pinch of salt. Which in all essence means you don’t sell off your better players, as without a strong nucleus of good players, you have very little chance to ever progress to the Premier league!
