I’m about to set off to the pub, well via another pub after working from home this morning watching the build up on the box.

It was an encouraging start by England on Sunday, whilst Scotland had a touch of stage fright against the Czech’s on Monday.

England started against Croatia exceptionally well but faded as the heat suffocated Wembley and gave up a fair bit of possession, but 2nd half we got the all important goal and always edged it, and it was a rare but deserved opening win.

On Sunday defensive solidarity was the name of the game for Gareth Southgate, but I hope we are bit more expansive today although I’m not sure he will make wholesale changes. Phillips was excellent and deserves to start next to I assume Rice once again. I’d expect to see Grealish though, probably on the left.

On 6 points and already qualified for the next round are the Italians, Belgium and the Netherlands, who I thought played in the best game so far against Ukraine. In fact from the patches I saw yesterday Ukraine and North Macedonia put on an entertaining match as well.
