Forster-Caskey suffers another ACL injury

Gutted for Jake Forster-Caskey who suffered another ACL injury on Tuesday night the club have announced.

Steve Brown mentioned in the Lincoln commentary that it didn’t look good and that is now sadly confirmed. JFC who is out of contract in the summer had full ACL reconstruction surgery in September 2018, which meant he missed all of our promotion season. He worked hard to get fit and was awarded and new contract in the summer of 2019, but was used sparingly making just 11 league appearances last season.

This season his form has been a rare highlight for Addicks and the cultured midfielder has played the third most minutes of any player. He was also in line to pick up the club Player of the Year award. Sadly that will be done from sidelines.

The club has said his rehabilitation starts now, and from someone who has had ACL reconstruction surgery, I know that doing it again is not advised. Whether it is the same knee or damaged to a lesser extent has not been clarified.

I wish Jake a speedy recovery.

I voted for him as player of the year. He’s been a solid pivot in the middle, head up, passing well in the games I have streamed and probably the one player I have wamed to over the season. Real shame to get an ACL but not impossible to come back from.
