Arsenal prospect in on loan

Charlton added to it’s skeleton squad today with the season’s acquisition of Krystian Bielik from Arsenal. The 20-year old can play at centre-half and in midfield shielding the back four. The Pole should also be quite adept at playing in an oft-preferred Bowyer back three as well.

Bielik has been unfortunate with injuries missing most of last season when at Walsall with a variety of ailments. Let’s be honest here, the better young players still available for loan are probably going to have an injury history. Let’s hope he is over them and can add many games to the 15 he has already played, most of which were at Birmingham the season prior.

As Steve Gallen said we have a good reputation looking after and improving Arsenal’s youngsters and their fans, from the bits I’ve read, only say good things about his qualities. Another body for Bowyer, but also another 20-year old, and not adding any experience to the squad. With a quick calculation I make the average age of our squad 21.

One man we have heard a lot more from this summer, and season so far, is Steve Gallen. Without Karl Robinson in the room, many have found some air to talk in, and Gallen is one of them, and I like listening to him and he talks with good authority. I appreciate his hard work and the cards he has been dealt. I hope he is able to convince others to join us before the end of the month.
