I would say that is season over..
An open and even 1st half at London Road but of course we had to concede with a few minutes to go before the break. We came out 2nd half with what sounded like a sense of urgency and were awarded a penalty. Magennis unforgivably missing the target completely from the spot.
And as obvious as the sun coming up every morning, minutes later Posh win a penalty and of course score from it to make it 2-0. Fosu then missed a sitter before sub Michal Zyro headed in a fine goal. It will be criminal if the Pole did not start on Tuesday.
Jack Marriott had a different view of any Charlton comeback when he scored twice in the last 10 minutes to give the scoreline an embarrassing look as Posh benefited from new manager bounce and the Addicks’ season continued as flat as a pancake.
The real mystery is how we have won just 5 games since October but are still 8th. The standard of this division this season is atrocious. The table alone shows we still have a chance, but the facts tell us that we are only kidding ourselves. The goal differences of the teams above us (Plymouth aside who were bottom a few months back) tells us all we need to know of our hopes for the remainder of the season.
I have stuck by Robinson, and he can blame who or what he likes, but he is singlehandedly responsible for a massive underachievement this season. Players such as Reeves and Marshall have been a huge disappointment, their uselessness only highlighted by the fact that Robinson ridiculously up-sold them. Then the rigidness of his tactics and formation have shown that he hasn’t got the coaching or managerial intelligence or perception to affect games, before and certainly during.
It is desperate, and when will this hell end. With the mysterious takeover bid(s) stalling, I actually do wonder if Duchatelet would do something in keeping with his utter irrationality and sack Robinson in a bid to rescue any play-off hopes?

Yes totally agree that is it for the season, this team I don’t think could survive the playoffs.

As you can guess CA the penalty miss was the turning point, but Josh then missed two good heading opportunities, as in he didn’t even make contact. Then Zyro won a free kick just outside the box, laid it on a plate for Fosu, and scored, in about ten minutes. As you rightly say criminal..
My son warned before the game that Marriott scores a lot and Maddison dives a lot.
Highlights of the day were a good Charlton turnout who outsung the home fans, meeting the bloke who hugged the steward at MK, wooden seats, and some wooden cupboards at the back of our stand that seemed to contain the shaved hair from a thousand away fans…
