Into the Lions’ Den

21 long years since we last beat our rivals just 3.7 miles up the road. That double in the 1995/6 season. The double. Can you imagine it?
Karl Robinson understands the significance of this game to Addicks, as does Andrew Crofts, although Robinson has never won at The Den either, he has had a lot less goes at it than recent Charlton managers.
Robinson needs this win and it will be a great way to kick start his Charlton managerial career, and he has a quick opportunity to put Saturday’s performance behind him. Mind you, so does Neil Harris. Robinson I would think will offer Foley and Chicksen a start.
My pre-match nerves are always on high alert before these games, and to add to that my son is attending his first ever Millwall v Charlton game. I hope he doesn’t have to witness as many disappointing afternoon’s and evening’s as I have over the decades!
Feeling confident re this one 🙂
Shut up you cunt…. ROLANDOUT
Speaking in tongues, that’s a bit old school, but it does suggest the mentally disadvantaged are touched by god. Unfortunately some are touched by Roland. lol
“I hope ourn win..” I reckon you will. Your boys have got a very good record against us. Must be the pinnacle of your season when this fixture comes long.
CA, any way you can edit postings on your blog?
Good! You did edit!
oo i am curious now. What did he have to edit?
Richard – just a2c banging on about darn our gaff.
Bit slow yesterday Bob. Was at my team Christmas lunch!
Funny enough I took my lad tonight for his first ever Millwall v Charlton game – one thing ticked off his bucket list at least but as for the rest, words fail me – a night with the Neanderthals is bad enough but that was utterly woeful. I’ve witness some bad Charlton teams down the years but that lot are right up there. Support was great and deserved so much better.
KR has a massive job on his hands, I just hope for his sake and ours he gets to spend most/all of the lookman fee otherwise yet another relegation scrap beckons.
Your son will give you the gory details I’m sure but you can’t point exclusively at the owner, we all have to take responsibility for performing in our respective jobs and the guys out there tonight let us all down big time. I remember now my last painful visit in the Parkinson era under previous owners, which I’d just about erased from the memory bank, ended 4-nil and equally if not more depressing. Point is the guys wearing the shirts have got to put it in- we can’t give them an excuse just because we don’t like our owner.
Back in Hertfordshire now with a large glass of red re-enacting yet another memory erasing process…at least it’s Christmas….can’t wait for the local game with MK on Boxing Day…did I real buy tickets
