Fulham 3 Charlton Athletic 0

I think that is it. 7 points from safety isn’t any different from this morning, but a gutless 2nd half ending in a sixth 3-0 defeat leaves us rooted to the bottom of The Championship and there isn’t a cat in hells chance of us being able to finish above three other teams.
This relegation was totally avoidable but everything points to it being so meticulously planned by Roland Duchatelet and Katrien Meire, with Richard Murray looking on, encouraging the complete dismantling of this once proud football club. Whereas Meire can’t get out of her own way and Duchatelet, he who doesn’t do failure, happy that his experiement is working, Murray should be utterly ashamed of himself.
If Riga, who I am starting to think we gave far too much credit for in keeping Powell’s squad up last time, is banging the nails in the coffin, then it was the clown Karel Fraeye that bought them from Homebase and left them on the side with a hammer.
When Guy Luzon was sacked we were 3rd from bottom, 1 point from safety with 33 games left. Our goal difference was -10. Those 13 games under Fraeye were an unmitigated disaster and completely threw the season of the rails.
Despite Riga’s penchant for buying a defender, by my estimate we now have 14, our goal difference moved to -33 today. Only Colchester, who have won 1 game in 20 and no prizes in naming who they beat, have a worse goal difference than us in the top 7 divisions. Fulham kept their first clean sheet in 21 games. Says it all.
We played alright first half with the recalled Callum Harriott leading the way, but that was before Fulham managed to have a shot. 0-1 at the half. Fulham made some tactical changes, Riga waited and brought on a defender at 0-2, and had Solly and JBG in the centre of midfield and we collapsed like a 10 storey building.
The players, who can’t remain blameless for much longer mostly disappeared down the tunnel at the first sound of the final whistle. Only Henderson and Solly, who grabbed Harriott and Fox, were man enough to go over to the travelling support and applaud them.
Thoroughly depressing, but my most significant feeling tonight is that of anger. A group of teenage boys founded this famous club, hundreds of players have represented it, and hundreds of thousands of fans have supported it. Now two people are intent on killing it.

Relegation watch: It is hard to see beyond the bottom three even though Bolton are teaching us a lesson in giving it a right go. They were ahead at home to QPR but conceded a 93rd minute equaliser. Rotherham lost at Burnley but Bristol City won again, away at MK Dons. Huddersfield beat Wolves 1-0.
Sorry fucked off with all matters Charlton
It is terribly depressing. I have supported our club, as a season ticket holder, for 47 years. These owners are worse than any we have ever had the misfortune to have thrust upon us. And I remember john fryer/sunley and others. When they are gone, having wreaked their ignorant havoc, we will rebuild this once proud club. Our fans will see to that. Richard Murray should hang his head in shame.
I rated your post as “Excellent” CA, just wish I didn’t have to though as the truth in what you rightly say really hurts, I guess we’re all hurting at the dismantling of this once proud club so at the very least I’m in good company as we fight for survival both on & off the field of play !!
Hi ca. Sitting in atlanta airport not wanting to come home. These players dont even know each other. We all know the balance of loan players has to be right but our regular squad are strangers.. Riga is set up to fail. I could weep. I feel your pain but will be there with the good folk of CARD on saturday. There is nothing else to do. I wish everyone would simply boycott the club until they go. Lots are already of course. I can see no other way.
