Unlike Karel Fraeye, who took little persuading to take the Interim job at Charlton following the departure of Guy Luzon, mostly because old Karel had his head up Roland’s backside at the time, it appears that Nebojša Vignjević was less than happy with Roly’s suggestion that he should leave 2nd placed Ujpest of the Hungarian League and take charge of the laughing stock that is Charlton Athletic.
A backward career step he presumed added to the fact that he would be forced to work with Katrien Meire, so Vignjević said “ne” and who can blame him.
Jose Riga was ahead of Vignjević in the new old coach queue but apparently made too many demands.
In the meantime Meire has located Karel Fraeye, who was apparently still hidden in the laundry basket, and the Interim has made history by being the first Interim manager to get sacked in professional footballing memory.
In the meantime Interim’s assistant Wim de Corte becomes the Interim’s interim caretaker with Jason Euell the Interim’s interim’s caretaker’s assistant.
And we can be relieved to know that Meire and Roly have commenced the search for a new Head Coach. Again.

CA Addick, having read the club statement I thought exactly the same. So, the club had not been actively looking for a new manager in the last few months, Fraeye WAS the new manager….
You cannot believe a word that comes out of Meire’s mouth, she’s as duplicitous as Duchatelet.
The insult is that they treat their supporters with total and utter contempt…. time to return the favour. The gloves are now well and truly off…

With the merry go round continuing you can only hope that the penny is finally dropping with Roly. Unless he can come up a recognised quality Championship Manager, then his boat is sunk as the wrath of Charlton supporters will overwhelm the Club and he will be left with a worthless asset, that will be available at s knock down price. This is his best opportunity to walk away with some money in his pocket!
