Peeters resigns from Waasland-Beveren

This morning Bob Peeters resigned from his role as manager of Waasland-Beveren and the club will now turn to Roland Duchatelet in order to settle the legal formalities and any compensation that can be agreed. This after meeting Duchatelet last night in London.

Ex-KV Mechelen assistant head coach Patrick van Houdt (photo) who resigned his position yesterday is expected to become assistant to Peeters at The Valley. van Houdt is Peeters’ brother-in-law. Guy Kiala, who assisted Peeters at Beveren is also expected to come.

It is very hard to try to understand Duchatelet’s motives. Peeters is getting some good approval ratings from Belgium football watchers, especially his ability developing younger players. His managerial record doesn’t stand up to the same scrutiny and we can only hope that once again Duchatelet hasn’t undercooked the strength of The Championship.
