A welcome distraction
Operation Massive, a welcome distraction from the trials and tribulations of our very displeasing Championship season.
2,000 Addicks will make their way up to Hillsborough to cheer the Addicks on in the 5th Round of the FA Cup. Yes, if you have been living under a rock since the turn of the year, Charlton Athletic have made it to the last 16 of a cup competition, the first time since the 1940’s when we were at Wembley pretty much every year. Well, at least it seems like that long ago.
Powell and his charges will appreciate the change of scene and both Powell and Johnnie Jackson talked fondly of childhood days dreaming of big FA Cup games, me too.
We are beyond the stage of squad tinkering, although to be fair Powell has put out strong teams in every game we have played. It is another chance to integrate the new boys and as I listen in at home, I just hope that the boys give a big Charlton turnout something to be proud off.
No news of any imminent loan moves, anyone signed now would be available to us until the end of the season. Powell talked today of the need for more goals. Funny that, I can’t say I noticed.
News also that Mr Duchâtelet will face the British media next week for the first time and the interview will again be show on CAFC Player.
Meanwhile I am fed up of sleepless night and utter helplessness and I have booked a flight and will be at The Valley for the QPR and Barnsley games. As my brother used to say in many other dark days: “They need us bro.”
Let’s make ourselves heard at Hillsborough. Come on you reds!

Certainly will CA – and as the rain lashes down yet again in SE London I’m looking forward to getting out for a few days as we’ll stay oop north. There’s been a multitude of question and answer sessions organised hasn’t there, so hopefully we’ll get the truth of whats been going on – I’m tempted to go to Bromley on Thursday – that will be an interesting one. Presumably the management of the club are already sick of the nonsense that is spouted in the social media (not you of course!). I hope so. I only pick up a few vibes from you and I’m staying well away from it all.
Oh look – here come the hailstones. Are you sure you want to come back?
