Another postponement as Hillsborough succumbed to the dreadful British winter (photo).

I would think the majority of travelling Addicks were already en route when they heard about the result of the 10.30am pitch inspection. It’s a shame, because the FA Cup is all about Saturday afternoon’s and the list of games we have ‘in hand’ is lengthened.

Wednesday have a home game this Tuesday and next, the same night we host Barnsley. That night has been slated as the date the game might be replayed and Cup games do take priority.

If that is the case, it will test my resolve as I will be in London that day and planned to be at The Valley that evening.

The games in hand are adding up with Barnsley, Bournemouth, Leeds and now Sheffield Wednesday to play, although those worried should take a look at what Guernsey FC had to deal with last season. They ended the season with 20 matches in 36 games and won promotion after a waterlogged pitch and a cup run disrupted their season.

Meanwhile we slipped further into the relegation zone, but with us being inactive this week we really couldn’t have asked for any better results with a host of 6-pointers ending up a point-apiece. We now have 3 games in hand over the 4 teams immediately above us and Birmingham and Blackpool are still very much in the mixer.

Anyway, we are still in the FA Cup – the way we are going we’ll be in the Final with still three rounds to play – and Robert Lee and his son Olly will draw our name out of the Quarter Finals hat tomorrow.
