Butlers Wharf
I’m in the City of London not as refreshed as I would like after an overnight flight from Bermuda into Gatwick, but this afternoon I have some meetings before I join up with some friends tonight for drinks and dinner.
I’m staying the night in the Butlers Wharf area on the south side of the river, and walking through here this morning it brought back some nice memories. I actually first worked not far from here but that was before the days of Hays Galleria and Butlers Wharf, but I have always liked this part of town.
Butlers Wharf also reminds me of a good mate of mine stretching himself to the hilt to buy a little place in one of the warehouse apartments around here at the same time as I bought my place in Catford.
That was the early 90’s, just before the crash and possibly the worst time in history to move into property ownership, especially as a 20-something. He clung onto it, and still owns it. Lucky bugger.

I must confess that I, often, really miss working in the City. I had some clients in Docklands and spent some time there, as well as living in Burrells Wharf for a little while.
Having said that I do like my current 2 minute commute from my bed to my desk
