Sponsor’s dinner

I’m off to The Valley tonight for the annual Shirt Sponsor’s Dinner. For the 2nd year I sponsored Danny Hollands and although unfortunately he has not played anywhere near as much of a significant role as he did last season I am still looking forward to being in his company.

Hollands has another year on his contract but one would have to think that he may leave in the summer with Bournemouth being a good bet. Mind you I was surprised as anyone to see him start at Middlesbrough and apparently he played well after being out injured since January.

Danny admitted himself that he didn’t do himself justice at The Valley early in the season, but he made a good impression at Swindon and I’m looking forward to him giving me a little insight later in to what it is like working with Paulo Di Canio, compared say with Chris Powell and Eddie Howe.

Last year two mates went in my place and said Hollands was great company and remarked on what a great bunch of lads they all were. No silverware this season to show off, at least from the first team anyway, but I’m still expecting an upbeat atmosphere.

Dave will also be there as he sponsors big Leon Cort, plus a host of people from the Charlton Life community, who sponsor a number of players. Should be fun.
