Charlton Athletic 1 Sheffield Wednesday 2
I was right hacked off when I switched my mobile on around lunchtime locally here in Colorado after our flight had landed. Even more disappointed to find out the circumstances.
I had a bad feeling about today, especially when I read last night that the ‘Massives’ had signed Leroy Lita on loan. Seemed obvious to me.
A 6th home defeat in front of a 20,000+ crowd and a kick in the teeth to those Addicks thinking of a play-off chase. Although the ire and negativity dished out on Twitter tonight is simply ridiculous. These people are in their shell when we win three on the trot, lose to a deflected last minute goal and they stream out of their sad existences to have a pop.
Hopefully they won’t be there on Saturday when it is support that Chris Powell and the boys need.

Powell-ometer: Another case of him being too slow with his substitutions. Three in injury time sadly showed a lack of judgement.
Elsewhere: Just a handful of games due to the 4th Round of the FA Cup with Watford continuing their great run with a big win at Forest, the other games each went against the form sides. Bristol City beat Ipswich, Birmingham won at Burnley and Blackpool won at Wolves.

I think that talk of a play off place has always been far fetched, but it was very disappointing. I am afraid that SCP was at fault on the substitutions.
It is clear Chris Powell did not pull all the right strings in the waning moments of the match and yes there have been three or four previous occasions when the same was true. But how did he do on the number of wins the club has enjoyed, such as the last three in a row? I still think he is working with not much more than an adquate roster in this division and overall, has done a good job of placing the squad where they currently sit. Mr. Jimenez could offer a big helping hand by landing two or three key additions, but nobody is yelling for his scalp, as he has failed to produce. It seems to me that during pre-season, the majority of the pundits were hoping for a mid-table finish at best and that is probably what we are going to get.
