Remembrance Day
The 11th hour, on the 11th day of the 11th month. Tomorrow is a National Holiday in Bermuda with shops, restaurants and businesses closed to remember those that were lost.
The island lost 125 brave men and women during the World Wars fighting overseas on behalf of the Brits, Americans and Canadians protecting the freedom of those back home on a 21 sq. mile island in the middle of the Atlantic.
I fly back from Boston tomorrow morning early, very early, and plan to spend the day doing something worthwhile with my family whilst remembering why we’re lucky to have the freedom to do such things.

My Dad was a schoolboy when his 25 sq. mile island (Guernsey) was occupied by the nazis in WWII. The black granite memorial in St Peter Port reminds us of the deportee Jews who were sent to their deaths in the labour and concentration camps. We shall remember them.
