Patriot Sunday

Off to Boston this morning which has made me not too popular at home as both my girls, young and not so young, have spent the whole week sick.
I have been invited to the attend the New England Patriots v Buffalo Bills game on Sunday. It starts at 1pm and the way the flights work make it a ‘necessity’ for me to leave here this morning, which conveniently allows for a night in Boston and then a lie in followed by going to the Patriots stadium in Foxborough, about 20 miles south-west of the city
The last NFL game I was at was in Chicago in 2007, and it was absolutely bloody freezing. It won’t be anywhere near as cold in Boston on Sunday. Probably a little brisk but the sun is expected to be out.
Both the Pats and the Bills play in the East Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) and New England currently sit top and Bills bottom. The Pats are, wait for it, one of the most winningest teams in the NFL. A word that is often used when describing American sports teams, but insults the English Language.
Anyway, the Patriots with the prodigious quarterback Tom Brady are one of the NFL’s best teams, although they haven’t had it all their own way this season. Should be good and I’ve only ever had fly-by work trips to Boston so I’m looking forward to having a little time to look around.
