Get well soon Richard

I’d like to add my best wishes to Richard Murray on a speedy recovery after suffering a mini stroke. Charlton and The Valley without Richard Murray’s influence and investment these past two decades would be a very different place and not a better one for sure.

Sheffield United, as expected, won their game in hand last night over Chesterfield with Ched Evans scoring a hat trick. 6 points is now the difference. I can’t work out if it is warm in here or I am slightly sweating?!

Sadly we got knocked out of the Kent Senior Cup on Tuesday losing to Dartford’s 1st team 3-1. Jason Euell, Cedric Evina, Bradley Pritchard, a fit again Andy Hughes and the mysterious Mikel Alonso all played but despite being level at the break the Darts ran out winners in front of a crowd of 1,682, 25% more than the average at Princes Park.

Tony Burman’s Dartford will now play Hythe Town in the final.

Dartford are having a cracking season and will be favourites to beat Hythe who are a couple of rungs lower in the pyramid. Looking at the table though it does look like the play-off’s for the Darts as they try to get themselves into the Conference next season for the first time in what must be a couple of decades.

As for us, it was disappointing not to get the the final but the Kent Senior Cup has proved to be a good run out for squad players and academy players alike when they have none or little other opportunities of a matchday scenario.
